Unlike the two spam looking comments you got so far, I DID read your book and liked it.

It kept me thinking of the time when I read Ulysses, by James Joyce. In English, by the way, brave man I am (I am not a native English speaker now, neither was I when I read it) and reading a translated version would have made the torture shorter. Cuz it took me months to finish the book (yes Im of the book that I begin book that I complete type) and I only really enjoyed a few chapters. Or maybe just a few pages in a few chapters, I dont know. But I do remember that those pages that I enjoyed made me feel special: the sudden realization of connection with the narrator's stream of consciousness is one of the most amazing experiences for a reader. At least I believe so. We all love reading in somebody else's words what we have chewed over inside our minds.

And even though your one and a half person approach does probably not elevate your novel to the stream of consciousness category, I felt the same way with it. The difference is that with weasels I stayed tuned to the narrator 90% of the time, as opposed to the 0.1% in Mr Joyce's masterpiece.

Which makes me think that, considering that I've never been to Chicago and do not really know the scene, places and people personally, you and I must have a few mental structures (unstructures?) in common.
Well done Jughead.

Hi John. I'm the drummer of Anti-You, Marco's band, the ones you played with in Rome last february.
I'm halfway to the end of your book, i find it very intense, and also well written. I'm devouring it.
But, uhm, i'm kinda lost into the references.
I have to guess that Interrogation League is Op. Ivy, but as far as i'm not the biggest expert in punk rock (i've always been on the hardcore side of the line) i'm not able to identify the other bands. Being a 34 old punk, voracious reader of MRR in the late 80's - early 90's, i'm sure i have the real names of Swindle Parlor, Flaming Faggots etc. stuck in my mind, but i just can't take those names out. Can you help me up, man? By the way playing with Even In Blackouts was a wonderful experience, i didn't know your music then. Now i definitely love many of your songs (In A Letter is definitely on my 2006 yearbook of favourite songs). A big hug to you and all the band members, road crew and whoever you choose to hug in my name.

Paolo aka Chef Ragoo.
